Analysis of radiation damage in silicon charge-coupled devices used for dark matter searches

Nuclear recoils in crystal detectors generate radiation damage the form of defects that can be measured scientific-grade CCDs as local hot spots leakage current stimulated by temperature increases devices. In this proceeding, we use a neutron source to DAMIC-M CCDs, and using at different temperatures, demonstrate procedure for identifying experiment. This is first time individual generated from nuclear have been studied. technique could used distinguish electron some energy ranges, which would improve ability CCD search weakly interacting dark matter.
